Garmin Launches Solar-powered Smartwatch, Know All Its Features And Price 

Garmin has expanded its smartwatch lineup with the launch of the Forerunner 955 Solar, the world’s first dedicated GPS smartwatch with solar charging support. Along with this, the company has also launched a GPS-enabled smartwatch – Forerunner 255 Series in India. Garmin claims the Forerunner 955 Solar is the first dedicated GPS running smartwatch with solar charging. It has a Power Glass solar charging lens and promises 20 days of battery backup. On the other hand, the Forerunner 255 Series includes the Forerunner 255S Basic and the Forerunner 255 Music version. Both the smartwatches promise up to 14 days of battery backup on a single charge.

The Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar now comes with solar charging technology. It comes with a Power Glass solar charging lens, which will give a battery life of up to 49 hours in GPS mode and up to 20 days in smartwatch mode. Apart from this, the watch comes with a full touchscreen display. The display can also be set to Always-on. Features like multi-band GPS and HRV status are available in the watch. The Forerunner 955 Solar also comes with a new race widget that shows users essential information like the weather. The watch also comes with health tracking features like body battery, pulse oximeter, menstrual cycle, pregnancy tracking, notifications, etc.

Garmin has also updated the Forerunner 255 smartwatch and the new model is available in two sizes – 41mm and 46mm. Garmin claims that the watches offer 14 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and 30 hours in GPS mode. The Forerunner 255 comes with multi-band GPS support and HDV tracking, including real-time stamina, running power metrics, and Garmin Pay.
